Are you a woodworker? I've only been doing it for 30+ years myself. The Epson 4990 is a higher end scanner that semi-pros use for photographic purposes. I'll let you know if I get settings that work. The probelm is that my old software, Geniesoft, cannot do accidentals and those are huge in guitar music. In the case of the Christmas Waltz, it shorted the music from 41 measures to 20 or so but with the same number of notes! I go to change it and instead of changing the time (9/4 as opposed to 3/4 as it was supposed to be) it moves the notes up to fill in the "holes" in each measure. Oh, here's what happens specifically: I use Smartscore to recognize the music, which it seems to do without issue (except for my first attempt with Koyunbaba! There was a disaster!) except for the time signature. I have spent two days trying to avoid bothering you folks for an answer but I'm getting frustrated.Īny fixes? It cannot be conversion form one software to another (As I run in to with Flash and Illustrator sometimes (older versions)) because I'm starting with a TIFF and using Smartscore. I thought, "Oops, I forgot to save first." Nope! Big deal? Yes, it is, I cannot get Finale to allow me to modify, in almost any way, the score I have created. Here's the problem: I cannot get Smartscore to get the time signature correct. I play classical guitar and I generally enter a melody into musical notation software and then start arranging, hence the single voice score. BTW, here are the pertinent details:Īnyway, I picked a really easy piece of music to import and test the setting etc. Since its file type is not supported in Finale, I have to scan and use Smartscore Lite to migrate everything here. I have a number of scores produced in another program. Anyway, apologies aside, here is the major problem I am having an issue with: I bought it and was forced to set my music aside for a couple of years. Yes, I know it's no longer in the product mix.
